Bodies. Bodies everywhere. Some of them were slumped at tables, some sprawled on the floor, and many were still lying in their beds as if the slightest sound would awaken them from their endless sleep.
That afternoon, we counted one hundred and seventeen bodies, both men and women, in that sleeping room. Howard was sadly pleased about this find, for it proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that his theory was right. The people who had lived and worked here had not gone anywhere. They were still here, and they were all dead.
